QQ with bad river card

Image
So in this hand I am happy with the play preflop and flop.  The flop is pretty good I think since I will get calls from lower pairs and flush draws. Betting the turn seems a good move too when the Jd hits.  The flush draw is still there, but weaker, and no overcards.  I am still going to bet out looking for value from lower pairs and charging the draws. I am sure that if the button has hit a set he would be raising the flop and if he hasn't done that he would almost certainly be raising the turn.  He doesn't so I think that I am still good. Then the river card comes. The cooler.  There is a big question as to whether the villain has got right the way to the river with just an over card, or possibly A2, A4, A8 or AJ I suppose.  Of course he might need to bluff the river with a busted flush draw. So I check on the river and see what he does..and he shoves.  Should I call or fold? PokerStars - $0.02 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players Hand conve...

What hands would raise an under the gun raiser in microstakes?

What sort of hand raises an under the gun raise in online microstakes poker?  How far will they push their hand?  How would you play this one?

Should you bet the flop with your pocket queens?

Image
Raising pre-flop with pocket queens is a given. When the limper calls your raise what do you know about his range? should you bet the flop when a king hits the flop? how would you play this hand

Who calls my pocket Aces?

Image
Raising with pocket Aces in early position should be standard play.  Who do you expect to call you? Smaller pairs? Who would 3 bet?  If the caller donks the flop what does that tell you?  When they call the raise on the flop is the hero in trouble?

I've got Kings so who is calling my bets?

Image
2c/5c microstakes 6max. The villain has VP17, PF 8 but AS 100. Up to now he has folded to all 3 bets so if he is calling this one what could his range be?  1010+? AQs? AKs?  Would he 4bet with KK, AA? When the flop gives the hero top set on a monotone board what could the villain be calling with?

We love a pair of kings - but wait for the turn card

Image
6max microstakes.  Villain after 24 hands has VP 67, PF 0, AS 0, FB 0, 3B 0, F3 0. Heh, if you are in the pot why leave! Our hero makes a mistake of course. How should he have played this hand?

Big slick meets its arch enemy

Image
1c/2c microstakes 6max. The villian (VP 17, PF 0) gets aggressive on the flop.  Big slick can lose your stack!

Pocket Kings against a caller

Image
1c/2c 6max. After 64 hands villian has VP22, PF 12, 3Bet 4. His aggression factors are: 5/2/5.  What can we expect from his call of our early position raise that forces him to play the hand out of position?

Playing Paired Kings - Guess what UTG raiser has...

We love starting with a pair of Kings. But when the villian is happy to carry on calling bets with 2 Queens on the board should we be afraid that he has one of the other 2?  What is in his range: AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ, possibly other pairs?  Has he hit a full house with his pair of 7s?

Did the hero miss out on value with a pair of Aces?

Image
2c/5c 6 max fast poker. We have no stats on the villian but he is happy to call a 3 bet.  When the 2 kings hit the flop should the hero bet out or wait and see? What would you do?

How would you play your pair of Aces on a monotone board?

Image
Micorstakes 2c/5c 6Max fast poker.  The hero has the best possible starting hand and hits a great flop in position.  The villian is a total unknown. How would you play this hand?

Play with Kings

Image
Microstakes 1c/2c 6max Fast poker. 7 hands on villian 8 who has figures of VP 43, PF 29, 3Bet 25%.  Villian 5 on just 8 hands has VP 63, PF 0, 3Bet 0. The shove from the villian smells like a flush draw...but could it be a set?

Playing Queens in a Multiway Pot?

Image
Microstakes 1c/2c 6max. 12 hands on villain 3 with VP 100, PF 73 and 3Bet 60.  Only 1 hand on villian 3 and so they are a complete unknown. When both villians call the preflop raise and the raise on the flop we know we are in trouble...but wait for the hands.

6Max microstakes.  Only 3 hands on the villian who has VP 33, PF 33, AS 100, F3 100.  His call to the preflop raise puts our hero out of position. When the flop comes with an Ace does the check followed by a bet on the turn tell the whole story?
